Blowing LOTS of QPF right now. Yeah, Mark and Skip, I know ours is coming , but I just took a drive to a gas station just south of hwy 74, which is just 4 miles from home. The rain mixed with and changed to almost all snow while I was there. There were cars driving in that were totally covered in snow, from 1 to 3" on some. Anyway, come back home and noticed the mix going to rain. Its still 100% rain at my place. I feel your frustration waiting for this changeover. First , we miss out on the initial axis of moisture being to our north and west a few miles, for several hours, and then when it did hit, its rain. So far, payback is going to be mine tonight though. It is really filling in south in Ala. I remember last year, I think, when I got in the dry slot and you said, just wait, and listen to your betters, 'cause you'd been preaching the comma, and sure enough, after it got on by, that storm pulled us out of the temporary drought with an inch, a good 6 or more hours after the first round that missed. FoothillsNC
So we still have hope Robert? At least you have seen some rain in your area. I did see some good snow while in Cherryville for lunch, then had to come home to nothing. Hope your Mom is better and hope you get dumped on! Glad to see Mark and Beanskip got some snow. Oh yeah, its coming. The changeover was a little longer than expected though.

Boy if it had been a little colder we would had atleast 6 by now. I'm going to say we get 4 tonight. Hope you had a good Christmas ! From everything I see Radar, WV, and RUC we could see more than 6 to 8 tonight, not including tomorrow, I'm with you 4 inches so far. Also I think our ratios will go up later, These smaller flakes are adding up, could spell trouble because it is a heavy wet snow right now! I just don't have feel for the event and it's duration. Seem its slower and stronger from what I gather? Merry Christmas to you also!
FoothillsNC
the rain is coming down pretty moderately now, and I'm sure I'd be nearing 1" of snow if it were not rain. Sorry about this mess-up for the Upstate and lower NC region guys, I didn't anticipate this much warmth in the low levels, plus it wasn't the best timing. Still I do see a few wet flakes mixing in, but the changeover sure isn't instant.

I don't know whether to believe it or not, but that does not seem good at all. I think alot of people will end up having temp. issues they didn't think they were having before.
