Think 3:23pm was peak. Or was it start? If so, no way that was 90%...

Yeah, 3:23 was it. Goes to show how little sunlight is needed for day ight.

Welp...unless I make travel plans, this is the last solar eclipse I'll experience in my life. :(

It all worked out. Definitely the best thing I've ever seen.  Birds freaked.  Crickets and mosquitoes came out.  It got cold and much darker than I imagined.  Can't wait to get these photos processed.  Now, the 6.5 hour drive home.  lol

The next eclipse (2044) is mainly Canada (Montana, N/S Dakota in the states) After that (2045) eclipse goes from Cali to Florida. By that time you may be :oldman: and retired in Florida so it may work out...

We did get jipped!

A 90%er post on this board much different than our 90%...

Gotta say, the earthquake and chinooks were way better than the eclipse.

Allentown was 93% and I can say there was no apparent difference then some clouds over the sun.

2017 was better

Quite honestly I wasn't expecting much but thought it may surprise me...but nope.

Looking forward to Wed-Fri w/clouds, showers and rain....absolutely thrilled.

Mow tomorrow....

Odd how a total eclipse can give you total darkness but 93% you barely notice. Either the sun is that strong that 7% can give daylight or someone is screwing up the predicted percentages in each area. Seems a bit wishy-washy...

So far several Chinook copters passed overhead with military staging in the Lehigh Valley.

I heard them on and off all weekend and finally heard something on KYW about a mix of helicopter activity that was scheduled over the weekend and today.  Tried to jump up to catch them but they were gone by the time I would get outside.  I know I used to see them when Willow Grove Naval Air Station (later renamed as a Joint Reserve Base) was active.  Plus whenever there are celebratory flyovers down in South Philly over the stadiums, they zoom back and forth over this area.

I was at my sister's house in her front yard during the event and a nice dark cloud literally sat over the sun right at 3:23 but I caught some pics at 3:22 pm and 3:.24 pm (plus an earlier one using an app taken at 2:59 pm).

Also did a snapshot of the temps (circled) during that the eclipse time frame and you see the drop.

I had bottomed out at 35 this morning but made it up to 68 about 30 minutes after the eclipse had started (at 2:35 pm).  All in all, it was a nice day with a little breeze that kicked in.

Currently 64 with dp 40.

Today could be our warmest day so far this year - our warmest reading so far was the 74.1 back on March 14th. After today the weather looks a bit unsettled with shower chances through Friday (we could see near another inch or rain in some spots) with the greatest likelihood coming on Thursday. Sun returns this weekend!
Chester County records for today: High 89 degrees Phoenixville (1959) / Low 20 degrees Devault (1977) / Rain 2.32" Kennett Square (1906) / Snow 6.0" West Chester (1917)

In Souderton today (got fried being outside), chinook hovering then slowly took off. They definitely have a distinct sound.
