Winds are roaring once again

They sure have for the past couple hours.

Currently in a rain lull again after a long round 2.  Picked up an additional 0.28" giving me 1.53" for the day (2.61" 2-day total).  My high ended up being 44 at midnight.

Currently a windy and misty 42 with dp 42, and low stratus.

the drought guy here  is drowning LMAO. 3.24 in of rain  in the last 24-36 hours. Little Lehigh is flooding , Roads closed and farms fields underwater. Farmers say it will at least 2 weeks before they can get in the fields to plant. Its time for a good long warm dry spell. Since December, we have had nearly a years  worth of precip (snow and rain) in Lehigh County already

My thoughts-- eerily similar setup  in this current weather pattern for continuing this wet spring and for an early tropical storm formation like Agnes in 72.  A wet spring followed by an early tropical storm would be devastating for our area. https://www.washingtonpost.com/climate-environment/2022/06/19/hurricane-agnes-susquehanna-50years-storm/

Got an additional 0.22" last night to finish up with 1.75" for yesterday.  And with another 0.24" earlier this morning, I so far have 3.07" for a 3-day event total.

There is an odd yellow orb in the sky this morning, and after bottoming out at 38, it's currently partly sunny :o  and 39 with dp 39.

ETA - So far have 3.75" of rain for the month and the Wissahickon creek is pretty much lapping the banks and the Schuylkill @ PHL just barely missed flood stage (so far) but might still get there if the rain picks up again.

With the 0.11" that fell here in East Nantmeal since midnight we are now up to 4.01" of rain since the month began on Monday. Some other area totals so far: Atglen 3.71" / Chester Springs 4.05" / Devault 3.76"/ Glenmoore 4.10" / Kennett Square 4.66" / Longwood Gardens 4.11" / West Bradford 4.67" / Nottingham 3.61"/ West Chester 4.51" / West Grove 3.69" / Warwick Twp. 3.99". Should finally see some sun today and tomorrow but still a chance of some showers and maybe some thunder w/ hail mixed in especially later this PM. Our below normal temps look to continue through the weekend before we finally see some milder weather by next week.

So  how does the last several months rank among the all-time wettest out here in Chesco?

For the December thru February months this season ranked as the 3rd wettest the top 5 being: 1978-79 = 21.37" / 1901-2 = 19.80" / 2023-24 = 18.83" / 1898-99 = 18.24" / 1909-10 = 18.18"

For the 4 month period December thru March this season ranked 2nd with the top 5 wettest being: 1898-99 = 25.90" / 2023-24 = 24.97" / 1993-94 = 24.86" / 1901-02 = 24.80" / 1978-79 = 22.88"

April is well ahead of the record rain amounts that happened in early March. GFS and CMC forecasting a multi day rain event next week Wed-Sat. Not something the farmers want to here the fields are significantly swamped.

Now I'll have that song as an earworm the rest of the evening!

Had a brief warm-up where I managed to hit 54 for a high just after 2 pm.  I also got a brief shower to give me another 0.01" for 0.25" for the day (so far) and 3.08" over the 3 days.  There's an incoming cluster of something so that might add to the total later tonight.

Currently 44 with dp 41.
