Loving the cloudy day today before the five day stretch of cloudy and rain/mostly cloudy starts, nice touch nature.

The near record SSWE in early March ruined our spring.

Despite it all the eclipse is looking like 75% chance of good viewing.

Phils will be dodging raindrops w/a 3 game series starting Monday at CBP.

Franklin Institute: (Weather looks pretty good)

On Monday, April 8, beginning at 2:08 pm, a solar eclipse will be visible across America. Because here in Philadelphia, we are off the path of totality, we’ll see a partial eclipse, the first in this region since August 21, 2017. Around Philadelphia, the moon will cover
90% of the sun.

Ended up with 0.11" of rain on Saturday, with a high/low of 59/44 yesterday.  Finished up March with 8.83" of rain.

This morning's low was 47, and it's currently 48 with dp 47 and light rain. So far have 0.33" in the bucket.  Measurable rain didn't start until about 7 am IMBY.

Crossing fingers that holds because all of the media hype since last December, kept blanking this area out for viewing based on historical trends (although we do often miss nighttime phenomena due to weather no matter what time of year :axe:).

Hell... "90%" is more than what we got in 2017 and 2017 was pretty cool in any case!

Hoping so since I'll be driving to damn near Canada to see 100%.

Streams are at bank full to slightly over. All primed for two days of heavy rain. Good luck flood folks.

Some heavy downpours currently so if streams were close yesterday they're over now.

46F/Mod-heavy rain

Here in Chester County PA this March was the 19th warmest average temp on record. . Four of the top 5 warmest March months were all before 1950 in rank order 51.7 (1945) / 51.4 (1921) / 50.0 (2012) / 49.1 (1946) / 48.1 (1903). Of note look how the National Center of Environmental Information (NCEI) chilled the average temperatures pre-1950 with post hoc cooling adjustments to mute the warmth we saw in those decades. 1945 Actual 51.7 - adjusted 49.6 / 1921 Actual 51.4 - adjusted 49.7 / 1946 actual 49.1 - adjusted 47.3 and 1903 actual 48.1 after adjustment 46.8. Interestingly not one available individual reporting station reported a number as low as these post hoc averages in any of these months.

Bottomed out at 45 this morning (with a high so far at midnight of 48). Have had 2 rounds of rain today so far - 0.47" for the first round and an additional 0.16" in round 2 for a total of 0.63" at this current lull.  Another round is incoming and should be measurable shortly.

Currently an overcast and misty 45 with dp 44.

Temp has stayed pretty steady much of the day and round 3 gave me another 0.60" for a total of 1.23" for the day so far.  Round 4 looks to be out in western PA, probably due here overnight and into tomorrow, triggering formation of a nor'easter at some point.

Currently in a rain lull but it's misty and 45, with dp 45.

My lightning detector has been firing between 2 am and now as a little disturbance comes through.  Haven't personally seen the lightning and haven't heard any thunder but something is going on!

Finished up with 1.30" of rain yesterday and currently have 0.30" this morning for a 2-day total so far of 1.60".  Currently light rain and 44 with dp 43.  Had been using KDOX when KDIX was flakey.
