Looks like just light rain the rest of the afternoon, so we'll probably end up with only around a half inch here. As others pointed out, the eastern solutions ended up being right with this. Still a miserable rainy day though.

Rainy early to mid week and then chilly and windy mid to late week. I'm hoping we can break out of this pattern and get back to nice weather for the 2nd week of April.

They average more than double or triple the snow we do and it can easily snow into April. We’ve been spoiled but we’re going back to the era where it sucks to be a snow lover here. Is what it is. even when we had very snowy winters, it was rare to get meaningful snow this late..... 1996, 2003 and 2018 were it. As long as we get snow in January and February it's okay, anything outside of that has become very rare.

Hope it happens because the rest of a Nina winter is most likely shot if it doesn’t. And hope we have a high ACE this summer.

What I have noticed lately is when we do get those blast of pac puke it takes longer to reverse then years past. If that type of relaxation is forecasted it basically means 4-5 weeks+ of no winter threats

Roger Smith
As of 4:30 climate report, 0.65" (incl .06" yesterday) at NYC takes 2024 past 4 and 5 (1876, 1953) into fourth place at 8.89" with some more to come? But 1-3 are probably safe now (all above 10").

Who knows if we'll see a period like 2000-2018 in our lifetimes again (likely not) but to say that snowy winters won't exist anymore is hyperbolic. The cold and snowy combo might be harder to come by though but we will have above normal snow winters again.
