...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM EDT
FOR NORTH CENTRAL MONTGOMERY COUNTY IN CENTRAL MARYLAND AND CENTRAL
FREDERICK COUNTIES IN NORTH CENTRAL MARYLAND...

At 630 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Harry Grove Stadium to Green Valley, moving north at 5
mph.

HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Emergency management and Trained Spotters have reported
         hail and wind damage with this storm.

IMPACT...Expect wind damage to trees and power lines. Hail is large
         enough to dent and damage vehicles. Some hail damage to
         roofs, siding, and windows is possible.

Locations impacted include...
Frederick, Damascus, Harry Grove Stadium, Ballenger Creek, Mount
Airy, Walkersville, New Market, Discovery-Spring Garden, Green
Valley, Clover Hill, Linganore-Bartonsville, Monrovia, Ijamsville,
Bloomfield, and Mount Pleasant.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Sterling Virginia.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

* At 638 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 9 miles northwest
  of Fredericksburg, moving north at 20 mph.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches
           to fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as
           damage homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by
           downed trees. Localized power outages are possible.
           Unsecured light objects may become projectiles.

  Midland, Heflin, Storck, Holly Corner, Roseville, Glendie,

That storm was on my doorstep then shifted off to the NNE. Only to now expand to my NW with not a drop here. Mind you the thunder and lightning has been crazy!

We seem to live in two different microclimates lol

  Bealeton, or 11 miles southeast of Warrenton, moving south at 15
  mph. Numerous outflow boundary and storm collisions in southern
  Fauquier will result in additional severe thunderstorms.

  HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and ping pong ball size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches

    I understand the SLGT, but it's highly conditional, as several of the CAMs are a shutout for most of the area.    It would be a late threat if it materializes, possibly after sunset for the central MD crew.

If we had full sun to I-95 we'd be in real business. The storms west of I-81 are maxing out along an instability axis. It's going to be tough to maintain themselves one they roll into this overcast.
