Shelf was great here, my phone doesn't do the greenage justice though.

Was surprised myself to see the green/blue hues. Gotta be awesome working at DTW getting the view you can get.

Solid light show at both ORD and home from last evening into early last night, though it didn't result in much other than that.

The QLCS this morning featured peak wind gusts of 50-55MPH at home.

From the far NE side of Detroit

I saw this cool shelf cloud in Toledo. Much of the same thing. It perhaps was the best view of a shelf cloud I've had in my entire life. (I didn't get a picture.) Then I drove straight toward it, that is, I had to drive to Detroit and back. Rainy! Saw some lightning bolts! But otherwise, terrible.

Models show that there is a high chance for a squall line, with likely some severe reports, to affect parts of Iowa and possibly Illinois. Dew points will be a balmy 75 degrees in Iowa, with some impressive deep-layer shear for July.

Well, I hope 12Z 3K NAM is off since it has the next three days being a big fat nothingburger for southern WI.

Just look how it’s resolving the convection in Minnesota.  Should give you some peace of mind
