hawkeye_wx
For the second consecutive day, a stratus deck advecting in from the east killed our temp, holding us in the mid 30s. The east wind off the lakes can be a real downer in winter and spring.

OrdIowPitMsp
The big cooldown everyone has been talking about will bring our temperatures down to only 5-10 degrees above average. Give this winter it’s futility crown. Got down to 24 last night, our average high.

cyclone77
Good shot at mid 60s here on Thursday. Just some scattered piles/drifts left at the moment, but even those will be gone by Tue or Wed. With the ground continuing to dry out the sky's the limit with temp potential.
michsnowfreak
People reacting to blue skies and sunshine here is like they just saw a ufo. Missing the brunt of the mild air to our west, but after a 23° start temperatures have rapidly warmed to the low 40s. Only dirty plowed piles of snow remain.

Looking forward to some thunder Thu evening. 3 weeks ago today we only made -8 for a high with 15" of snow otg. Today it's 50 with no snowpack. What a turnaround.

vpbob21
This cloudy winter just continues on. It is almost getting comical how it manages to stay overcast when the general setup would seem to favor sunshine. Crazy to see places like Duluth hitting 50 while we are stuck in the low 30's down here.
Lightning
A bit unexpected day here. Never got above freezing. 31.3F on my gauge was the high. Freezing Fog this morning and clouds all day!!

cyclone77
A bank of low clouds and dense fog backed in from the east this morning and co ck blocked temps. Only 42 here vs 52 at MLI just 25 miles southwest. Luckily we have 60s coming for Thursday.

CheeselandSkies
We ready to kick off the 2024 severe weather discussion thread on February 6th? Although, there have been tornadoes in northern IL in early January (2008), and in mid-December in northern Wisconsin (2021), so anything is possible.

Can't forget January 3rd in IL and January 16th in IA just last year either. Models certainly have grabbed my interest for Thursday, although dews look pretty marginal. It's too bad about the gulf getting swept right before this.
