Fox 45 Baltimore weather professional just said Baltimore should see it's heaviest snow about 2 p.m. Does that make sense?

If the coastal gets going and the banding is good, maybe. Certainly going to be someone enjoying some wraparound fluff in the early afternoon.

751 days without measurable snow … and now 2 storms in a week. El Niño … you rock!

NE MD - New London Rd (Elkton)

my BP 300/150 driving to hospital!

I like the blood pressure as the new snow ob!  I think it should be mandatory on everyone's snow observation from now on ;)

Towson Obs.

light to moderate snow

bigger flakes at the moment

Accumulation:  Somewhere between 3 and 30 inches...who really cares?  Got the day off before a single flake fell.

Temp: cold enough for snow to fall and stick!

Blood Pressure: 100/60 (enjoying the peacefulness of the snow)

I wonder if that norlun trough is going to get going and where exactly it will happen.

It really is a snow globe outside.

For those of us near Baltimore and especially north, this past week might be our best stretch of winter since 2016.

With the snow on snow, this will easily be the deepest I've ever seen snow in Baltimore (moved just before the March warning event). Might even pass that single event total with today's event if we keep booming, but it will be close!

The inverted trough modeled on high rez guidance has been hinting at this for a few days.  Setting up somewhere between NJ and central MD.  They are very small, from a meso perspective and hard to pinpoint but the the forecasters are seeing evidence that it may set up at the southern extent.  That'll be the jackpot zone.

I kind a doubt it.  Looks like (on models) most of the heavy stuff should be over by then...but I hope I am wrong.

If we can't get it done this year, then all of the forcing mechanisms and associated indices we've come to trust over the last 30 years will need to be normalized to whatever this new normal is.

Expecting a HECS every time there's a favorable Nino seems a bit of a stretch, but I guess it's go big or go home.

Small flakes and very light snow in Burke right now.

FINALLY!!  A decent snow to take the 4x4 out in since I got it in 2021.  Main roads seem ok.  Slushy.  Side ones are more fun.  Some plowed, some not.  The ones not plowed are fun.  Mostly did 2x4 and traction control works wonders.  But for some roads that had hills I threw in 4x4 and let that thing eat.

Goddamn I love having a truck.
