I have noticed the GFS and NAM have also been cutting back further into NJ. That little bullseye over Monmouth County that has been there for days is now off-shore. I think a bust might be coming for more than just us.

that would be the best thing about this storm at this point

there's no comma head.. you almost need to be directly north of the low to have super high hopes.

If Im not mistaken things just slowed down a bit... ruc doesnt have precip coming in until later tonight..

i dont have much trust in the ruc past like 6 hrs but we'll see ... other models did try to indicate we get some snow after the low is to our northeast but that's tough even in a great situation as we are getting drying winds etc.

This is a classic SNE storm. They are now stealing Miller As that come out of the Gulf. I think they have their mojo back.

usually with miller A's, we are getting snow while the storm is deep in the SE or still in the gulf with overunning. There was no overunning with this storm as it didnt tap into the Gulf for us

Yeah, it's their turn and let them enjoy it. Last year, the storms did everything they did to avoid NYC-BOS while dumping on the MA.

Doug Hill now has DC area under Trace-2", but also cut the totals in the delmarva.

Even on the intellicast weenie radar you can see the western edge moving east instead of expanding or moving due north....i'm guessing that's a bad sign. It does match the ruc though

i thought you were not going to post the rest of the day

I'm still trying to figure out how we got screwed on this one, all things considered

classic SLP track, cold air

upper air seemed to mess us up in the end

still, in a week its gonna be just under 50 in BOS and just over 50 here so at least we won't have to deal with the mud once it melts

I was about to post the same thing. The last 2 frames of the intellicast radar show an eastward jog JUST as it looked like it was about to pivot some snow into the DC area. That is final nail in the coffin for me. And now I hear they may postpone the Sunday night football game in Philly tonight, so I won't even be able to enjoy seeing snow on TV. Ugg.

Yeah, I am not sure how a bombing low on top of Hatteras is going to whiff us either.

First things that come to mind is no area of high pressure over the Canadian Maritimes, UL trough is neutral tilt instead of negative, etc...

La Nina.

Looking forward to the warmth later next week. A nice break from the cold.

NYC did alright with some of the storms last year, especially the late season one that missed us. I wouldnt mind if it sleeted all day for them.
