It hasn't fallen yet, but some system snow, followed by a model projected semi-stationary single band should do the trick.

Stebo
As for the snow so far 1.4" as of 7am still snowing solidly as of this moment as well. Probably end up in the 2-3" range for the first part of the system.
RCNYILWX
For those who have wanted to chase a Lake Ontario or Erie LES event, I think tonight-tomorrow's event for northeast Porter, especially LaPorte, and nearby is worth considering heading out. The high res guidance is in really good agreement in 1.5"+ QPF, so it's not just the HRRR putting out huge amounts of QPF. This could be one of the better southeast Lake Michigan LES events in a while.

I think I’m gonna do it, though tomorrow night is earliest I could go

RCNYILWX
The 12z HREF LPMM is chef's kiss. Up to 2.08" QPF in northwest LaPorte, 1.25" in northeast Porter. The PMM 24 hour snow on the SPC HREF page is showing a spot of 30-33" associated with the highest LPMM QPF valid 00z tomorrow evening.
sbnwx85
Picked up 2.7” overnight from round one. Now have an 8” snow depth. That lake effect band is going to mean business. I’m supposed to travel to the Chicago suburbs Friday night to be at a funeral on Saturday morning. It’s going to be an interesting trek through LaPorte County.
cyclone77
Most of the guidance gives this area 0.10-0.15" of precip. Should fluff that up to 1.5-2.5" of snow.
NEILwxbo
Tomorrow’s LE event could be the real deal. If anyone was curious what it was like to be in upstate NY last weekend, here’s your chance
Paulie21
Yeah the LE looks almost textbook. Crazy long fetch with steady 600+ lake induced CAPE for hours. Could definitely see 3"+/hr rates in that at times.

Frog Town
12Z Guidance coming less phased and drier. Was really hoping for this to ramp up, but it's gone in the other direction. Oh well.
mimillman
Unsurprising. Still looks like 2-3” is achievable but anything more than that is less likely
michsnowfreak
Winter has made quite a comeback. Picked up a fluffy 2.8" of snow this morning with round one, and DTW had 2.5". It's been nice to have snow on snow on snow this week!

sbnwx85
At this point thinking 1-2” from the system tonight. We’ll see how much the lake effect wobbles east. WSW calls for 4-8” in South Bend.

Lightning
Got a 1" this morning of sugar like snow with a little fluff at the end. Pick up another 1" or so of pure fluff this afternoon. Nice couple inches. Looks like another 1-2" tonight/morning. Nothing too exciting but always great having lots of flakes of snow in the air

No biggie as there are several inches on the ground and trees around here. Very wintery
