Upslope and extreme cold are the big parts of this one still to come. I expect there should be wide spread snow showers around tomorrow just from the Arctic air squeezing out every bit of moisture possible. It's rare to have a front that sends temps falling into the 10s during daylight hours that doesn't have snow showers. So I'd expect a good dusting to maybe 1/2 inch even in non-flow areas tomorrow. 4

John1122
With the deeper returns exiting, I'm back to heavy freezing drizzle/mist with a temp in the upper 20s. There's 6 inches of snow on the ground, a crust of ice, a 1/4th inch of snow on top of that ice and now a glaze of ice going over that. With some sleet in the layer too.

It should be misting here for a bit longer,it never has been shown to be a strong system, very little QPF,higher elevations can always get upslope
John1122
Back to a pretty good snow shower right now. It's freezing drizzle, snow, freezing drizzle.
Holston_River_Rambler
I must have had some sleet mix in at one point too. Thankfully it gave the glaze a little bit of traction. Pretty good swath of precip swinging into north central TN now. Hope it can hold together.
Knoxtron
Light snow here atm, haven't even attempted to walk off my porch yet to see the conditions. Looks like a death trap lol
Holston_River_Rambler
I attempted last night. I should be old enough to know better.
Maestrorr
32.6 here this morning already so maybe there will be some melting. Walking the dog was treacherous. Nice glaze of ice on everything and the places on the road that look wet were ice.
Holston_River_Rambler
Staring to get some pretty good light snow here. Reminiscent of clippers of yore. Somebody may get a good half inch out of this in the lower elevations, if the dendrites align just right.
weathertree4u2
We have gotten maybe a half inch but I am over the snow now lol
Holston_River_Rambler
I thought I was over it, then I saw it falling again. But yeah, usually I like it for 2 days and then am ready to wash it all away and start chasing days 10 GFS storms again.
Carvers Gap
One inch of additional snow here, maybe more. Roads in portions of KPT are a mess. We have a layer of glaze underneath.
fountainguy97
Temp 30.7 and falling. Got a glaze and coating of sleet/snow overnight. NW regime kicking into high gear now. Snow and roads are covered instantly.
weathertree4u2
Yea, we have a thin layer of snow on top of glaze on the roads and the front must have just come through here, the winds are howling out of the north now

Wurbus
I have a question on how temp is reported at the main stations. For example, if the temp reaches 32.6 as the high for the day, do they round up to 33?

Wurbus
I've had flurries since about 9am here in Knoxville. Not really accumulating much, but it is nice to see them flying around outside. Temp has been hovering around 31.
