Did anyone bother to look at the forecasted radar last night? This was pretty well modeled... .5 - 1.5" was the consensus before the lull then another inch or so before sleet and freezing rain, those that stay snow the longest will get the most (NW is best).. Why would there be school today with steady snow sleet and freezing rain likely from 11am-3pm for many in CT with temps in the 20s?

Mine in N ORH is open as usual

Oh, sorry to hear.  lol

Only .50” so far but I can see why they’re closed here, timing is not good and the roads are definitely snow-covered.  Cold temps don’t help because snow is packing onto roads nicely.

We do this literally every storm after following model runs incessantly right up to game time.  Folks rushing to convey that they have fingers rubbing the bust button.

If you thought you’d wake up to 2-4” at 12z please log off and go back to sleep.

You guys, I mean, it may not happen the way it was modeled, but the good forcing was supposed to get here this afternoon not early this morning. Up here the best snow is supposed to be around two or three or four in the afternoon, which would imply for southern New England late morning to midday. Relax and let it play out.

Yup. A very dangerous situation unfolding out there.

Yea the timing is more detrimental than amounts. Plus, we laugh at southern drivers in winter storms but honestly folks in sne aren’t any better. People can’t even drive on dry roads…

I looked back a couple pages and didn’t see what you’re seeing. “Radar looks bad” posts don’t equate to “bust”…seems like those were just commenting on what the radar looks like which ain’t great.
