bowtie`
I have been slacking in sharing my clouds. The hard drive had gotten full, full and I have been burning pictures off of the harddrive instead. On May 17th, had a good day of clouds. A solitary popcorn cell, looking southeast as I got out to the overpass. Taken with the 23-70mm at 70mm and cropped in the camera... The sunset was very minimalistic. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Had some nice red looking southwest. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... And even more red looking to the north. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm and cropped in the camera...

bowtie`
From 6-3. Some morning color. Taken from the alley behind the house. And the 24-70mm at 28mm... Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm...
bowtie`
6-11 was an alto-cumulus evening. Taken with the 24-70mm at 30mm... The post sunset spot light of the yellow alto-cumulus and some orange stratus closer to the horizon. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...
bowtie`
6-15 had some real nice post sunset color. An overview. Taken with the 24-70mm at 25mm... A quasi-closeup. Taken with the 24-70mm at 61mm... Cheers!

Stormchaserchuck1
Definitely some "A" Summers and sunsets over the last few years.. since about 2021-2022, the sky has become much more picturesque.

I would have to disagree here. I have been taking pictures of clouds for quite awhile now. Just on this computer I only go back to 2014. 6-2-2014 to be exact and the sunsets have looked the same even back then... If I were to really dig, I could go back another ten years at least but I do not feel the urge to put in the effort.
Stormchaserchuck1
I'm just speaking from personal experience. The last few years matched again what I saw as a kid. The sky has though, in the last 2-3 years maintained a purple and pink tint that I didn't see before. Nice pictures by the way. I love looking at them. bowtie`
6-19 had a humid night look to it. Not going to go back and check but it did look that way. Some broad crepuscular rays to start. Taken with the 24-70mm at 47mm... More rays. Taken with the 100mm... Some nice color graduation. Taken with the 100mm and cropped in camera... bowtie`
6-22 was a fairly generic sunset. Pre-sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Post sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm...

bowtie`
7-1 Back Home Again in Indiana Of course after an 11 hour car ride, the sunset was extra special and not to be missed. I am going to over-share as it was rather nice to get back home to. Looking SSW as I got out to the overpass and all the cirrus in the sky. The contrail and contrail shadow was rather vivid for being so far away. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... A two sided sundog (parhelia). Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm... The parhelia on the south side when it was at its brightest. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... And now the sunset and all the colors starting with the whites. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... As the oranges were creeping in. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... As deep as the colors got. Taken with the 100mm and cropped in the camera... Cheers!
bowtie`
7-3 had a nice red flash. It was broad and spotty but still that vivid red color for an extremely short amount of time. Taken with the 24-70mm at 39mm...
bowtie`
7-6 was a crepuscular rays night. Broad and middle of the road quality but still very evident. Taken with the 24-70mm at 31mm...
bowtie`
Only extremely behind now. 7-17 has a nice variety for the sunset. Looking WNW pre-sunset. The broad and kind of undefined crepuscular rays are not really that exciting but they way to top of the cloud bank is delineated looks cool to me. Taken ith the 24-70mm at 70mm... Looking southwest around sunset so you have some context on the last and better shot. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... The best of the post sunset color looking southwest. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm...
bowtie`
7-20 was about the pre-sunset color. With the blue. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... And just the yellows/browns. Taken with the 100mm and cropped in the camera...
bowtie`
7-21 was about the post sunset color. As the pinks started overhead. Taken with the 24-70mm at 45mm... Max red in the area. Taken with the 24-70mm at 55mm... Cheers!
bowtie`
7-24 was just a proto-typical summer sunset. Lots of haze/humidity made the sky milky. And most of the summer the worst of the smoke stayed off to the west as you can see on the horizon. The scattering of alto-cumulus put just enough oompah into the sky to make it worth taking a fe clicks. Taken with the 24-70mm at 42mm...
bowtie`
7-28 ended up being fairly special. Storms were exiting the area around sunset. When I got to the firehouse the virga and crepuscular rays were just starting in a fury. Taken with the 24-70mm at 39mm... I thought maybe some special might happen and I wanted to get out in the country where I could have unencumbered views all around the compass. So I took the time to relocate. Here it is a bit later ith the sun bending around a silo out in the countryside. Taken with the 24-70 at 55mm... Good thing I had clear east views also as there as this rainbow arc. Taken with the 24-70mm at 65mm... And now for the showstopper and the last image of the evening. A full on orange rainbow at sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 18mm... Good night my darl'in, wherever you are....
bowtie`
8-1 was a study on cloud shadows. Started off right at sunset with this cute little shadow all by itself. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... A bit later things got more numerous but a bit more diffuse. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... It got really wild by the time the orange/red started creeping overhead. The shadows got even more defined as the Sun rounded down farther west way over the horizon. Taken with the 16-35mm at 20mm... Cheers!
bowtie`
Sunrise on 8-5 featured a pink Sun. Me thinks some smoke must have helped this along. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm and cropped in camera...
bowtie`
8-11 was one of those perfect conditions' evenings. Started off pre-sunset with Indiana doing it's Big Sky imitation. Taken with the 24-70mm at 25mm... The actual sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 20mm... The post sunset color. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... Good night my darl'in, wherever you are...
bowtie`
8-13 was a minimalist kind of night. Starting off with the sunset. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... The post sunset starts with some smoke on the far horizon. Taken with the 24-70mm at 59mm... The diffuse red. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... bowtie`
8-20 has plenty of cirrus and high clouds to shoot. Started off with a nice sundog (parhelia) on the south side of the Sun. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... Looking south right around sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 18mm... Looking west at sunset. Taken with the 16-35mm at 21mm... bowtie`
8-24 was a good example to stay for the last erg of color. Sunset was rather underwhelming. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... But if I waited for the last dregs, and I did, sometimes it can be worth it. Taken with the 24-70mm at 47mm...
