We usually see that type of temperature rise in the hours before a large coastal begins to move across northern Florida/southeast Georgia and up the coast. At least I think they used to do that. It’s been so long I’m not sure. 1

Wind has kinda always creeped me out. Ever since Helene, the wind has given me a bit of anxiety. Our house was so fortunately lucky that day to lose trees all around it but have none hit it. I’m surrounded by very mature pines and when I get 4+ inches of rain like this, even 20-30 mph gusts make me nervous.

calculus1
Don't have my final tally here at work, but it was still raining when I left home. We were at over 4 inches of rainfall yesterday and today combined when I left. Crazy. That's almost four feet of potential snow...

WNC_Fort
You know what would add insult to injury for us foothill folks? Watching the coastal plain or piedmont score while we scrape out a few flakes 1

Yep and I don’t like the amount of northern stream dominated runs we’ve seen so far. Clipper energy just doesn’t pan out for us. I’ll be happy for folks if they score but man. Long gone are the days of overrunning events and gulf lows (that don’t cut west).

SnowDawg
Would kill for just a nice stout CAD with some overunning. Not asking for much. Just a few inches of snow and sleet would make me happy just to end this drought.

mercurydime
36.9 and light rain. Thought I might look out back and see a glaze this morning, but my mountains are obscured by the low ceiling.
