Some places in Buncombe got snow that normally don't out of that direction. Even Mills River had a dusting. Probably how you got flakes. I'm directly in the lee of Mt Mitchell so you can forget about anything here out of that direction barring a strong mesolow.

Yes, sadly we are likely snowless for the remainder of 2024. Will the pattern change back to cold in January? TBD.

I saw zero flakeage.  Not even a flurry.  Like wncsnow says, as the crow flies, Mt. Mitchell is just a dozen or so miles away.  It's like a snow stopper.  

To be honest, I was super impressed that we had some enhancement here in Rutherford County. Looks like it just slid and picked up on the other side of the northern foothills in the county.

It's crazy how you have been beating me in cold temps. The flood had something to do with it I think. All the trees and vegetation next to the river are gone and its all open now

Another station about 3 miles to my se had a 16.9.

But to my ne about the same distance it was around 20…
