HRRR with a pretty nice squall line tomorrow. For those that are into that kind of thing. Maybe we can snag a quick half inch from it?

Squall line to minor event to secs/mecs…that’s the upcoming lesson plan.

This was discussed last night.    It's not just the HRRR - every hi-res model has a line of snow squalls rolling through the area Sunday morning.   Yeah, it might be rain drops for a few minutes, but it will quickly turn to a fun burst of snow.

So it looks like we're going to get a few periods of flurries and light snow over the next 3 days prior to a possible real storm at the end of the week. Not amazing but at least it'll feel wintry for the first time in years.

Plus a heavy snow squall Sunday morning

Get that through about noon where some sun max and it could be thunder snow or at least about 2”ph for 30-40 mins

GEFS mean is 2 inches for the metros and their burbs, southern MD, and eastern shore if you’re west of the Delaware border longitude. Could be worse. Obviously it’s a smear of individual, less broad area of snowfall outcomes.

Honestly check the GEFS snowfall trend over the last 24 hrs. It’s steadily improving. Upside is greatly reduced but maybe a 2-4 event is on the table if the passage of the cutter yields further improvements in this direction.

Consensus seems to be forming around seeing periods of light to possibly moderate snow between mon - wed (with Sunday morning squalls) 1-3/2-4 type deal. Certainly not the ceiling we had a few days ago, but I’d honestly take it. Some snow on the ground that won’t melt due to legit cold being around leading into a more favorable window? Why not. Gotta kick this off somehow
