John1122
NAM pretty much stayed the same as 00z, 3k looks like it will too. NW edge of guidance for them. Especially the 3k.
John1122
I take that back. The NAM was colder over Knox Co and didn't have the p-type issues so instead of 3.5 inches Knox was covered by 7+ inches on the 12k. The 3k still has the p-type issues along and S of 40. Yeah 12km is a minor tick better for eastern areas but still a massive difference between hrrr and NAM. Inside 24 hrs now...

John1122
My forecast says 1 inch Sunday night, 2-4 Monday, and "Moderate Snow Accumulations Possible" Monday night. That usually means 2-4 inches as well.

fountainguy97
Yep! RGEM pushing in more cold. One more tick at 12z and I'm happy haha hrrr and RGEM absolutely crush eastern portions while NAM nearly blanks the same locations..

You can almost trace the spine of the Apps from WV thru TN with the accum maps.

I go from 21 to 36 on the RGEM Monday with snow falling. Doesn't add up.

Think it's more of an algorithm issue...some models struggle a little more than others with high terrain features as far as exact locations. Rockies are a prime example, resolution is almost non existent there.

TellicoWx
While Hi-Res is the way to go..globals painting swaths like the 6z ICON and GFS has done..I would not be surprised if a couple Hi Res don't go full bonkers in the next couple runs today.

Kasper
This could be one of the best 24 hour snowfalls the valley has seen in a long time! The GFS, Icon, just unload on the valley….. this one is gonna be fun to watch! With brutal cold in its wake, it very well should stick around for a bit!

Greyhound
WVLT in Knoxville changed their area forecast to 2-5”. Guess the upgrade by MRX to include most of the area to a warning made them reconsider their previous paltry numbers..
