OrdIowPitMsp
GFS is throwing warning criteria snows into the twin cities. Not sure what to expect atm. One thing is for certain we have all the cold air needed. Even with full sun only got to 16 here today.
andyhb
Again, this increase across the board is nearly entirely related to the cold sector precip getting more robust.
ILSNOW
These GFS snow numbers are at basically an 8:1 ratio for almost the entire event. Storm does have great potential but would have one for the books if we had a cold air mass in place with 12 or 14:1 ratios.

madwx
some of the Hi-Res CAMs keep daytime snow around here much lower and accumulations only reaching 5-7" in total. did some model sounding investigation and one main difference is much weaker omega in the CAMs. Verbatim the NAMs would give us a really good chance at thundersnow. One negative factor is that after the initial 3 hour burst the DGZ gets really shallow due to strong WAA and it doesn't really recover until the very tail end. 2
