I believe he's at 850 feet. It can make a noticeable difference as we all know. He's more than a couple miles west but yes, elevation is always a factor. I'll see a difference between my yard and the hill (over 500) I drive over to get to the main road. It's really cool when an inversion sets up between me and the top of the hill.

Im a few miles west of the city of Middletown.
gravitylover
Yeah it's a whole different weather scene as you get over by Holiday Mtn. I see huge differences over a few hundred feet here. It'll be white rain in town, maybe coating car tops, and I'll have an inch or 2 at home a mile and a half away.
crossbowftw3
Snow finally broke out in earnest around 1:30-2 PM, maybe cracking an inch already the way BGM’s AFD writes it, most of the snow should happen over the next 6-8 hours. My totals actually got cut a bit on the p&c from 8-9 to roughly 6-7”
wishcast_hater
So far nothing. NWS upped my totals from 4-8 to 7-12 now and 12”-18” Eastern Catskills. .
gravitylover
I've got heavier than flurries starting to accumulate. Not liking the ESE wind.
Juliancolton
I'd really love to see a flake here at some point if it's not too much trouble, no worries if not 1

snywx
This band means business.. I know some of guidance picked up on sig accumulation on this side but i was skeptical. If these rates continue for another 2 hrs then 12" is not out of the question

The big damage is tonight but tomorrow could be a nice icing on the cake.

Didn't quite get into the best of that band but enough to be wowed by it. 7.2 inches otg as of 11:30 28.9 ° and still coming down heavy. Looks like I should stay in this at least another hour. Double digits definitely within reach.

I should get a foot, even without help from the daytime stuff tomorrow. What a great event. The intensity and flake size are awe-inspiring right now - when one of the big aggregates lands on my jacket, it almost feels like being hit by a snowball 2 1
