SethToast
Some pics from the Houghton area today. It's a lot prettier than my cheapo android camera and the 2 MB forum file size (Seriously, is it still 2003 in here?) can capture.

weatherbo
West flow has kept things pretty quiet around here with just some flurries and light snow at times. WWA issued tonight and Friday for up to 8 inches locally, some models indicate quite a bit more but we'll see. With LE there's always surprises. Lowest temp here at the house during this cold spell was -14 Tuesday morning. The coldest daytime high was 3 degrees, same day.

Look just fine when I post them here. Same with NWS story boards, that are many times 1-2 MB png.
cyclone77
Down to -9 already here. Still think a good chance at -20 to -25 tomorrow night when ridge passes through.

OrdIowPitMsp
-6 overnight, one more cold day to go. Pond Hockey Tournament is in full swing today. The neighborhood is already getting busy with spectators. There’s always a few former NHL players that partake.
Cary67
Probably the high water mark for snow depth and that deep winter feel. Some ZR then the great melt

bowtie`
Snow depth here on the east side of the house in the Sun. On the west side of the house in the shade. The blue skies make the snow turn real blue in the shade.
michsnowfreak
Deep winter morning today. DTW hit 2°, but once again below zero in spots (DTWs low this month is -3°). Love the crisp, cold air and fresh snow. Even had a frost design on my window.

Some winters are better skating than others obviously, but they had a skating party last night.
OrdIowPitMsp
Minneapolis has seen 0.19” of precipitation in January. Currently tied for 6th driest. There’s a chance we don’t see anything else this month. The monthly average temp of 16.5 through the 19th is only 0.5 degrees above average but surely the departure will rise by the 31st.
cyclone77
Tomorrow will make 8 out of the last 9 days with below zero temps. Definitely been a brutal stretch of cold.
bowtie`
Amazing that you can get drifts with just two inches of snow, but you can.

cyclone77
MLI got down to -19 this morning, -16 here. Temps will be in the mid 20s early tomorrow morning, or about 40-45 degrees warmer than this morning at the same time!
bowtie`
Did we make it to 1041mb at KIND today. Looks like it in the five minute data. We were at 1040.9 and then it ticked up one more hundredth in between the hour.
fluoronium
It's been a pleasant stretch of wintry weather recently. Nothing crazy, but the glacier on the ground is nice, and it's been refreshed frequently with light snows or at least snow that gets blown around. It sure beats some recent winters. cyclone77
Tremendous difference this evening compared to last evening. It's 23 right now, but at this time last night it was -14. Sayonara arctic airmass.
michsnowfreak
Went on a winter walk before today's Lions game. I could honestly handle the frigid air all winter long.
SethToast
Absolutely gorgeous past couple of days in the Keeweenaw. Blue skies and snowy trees are a rarity even up here (the former is the real challenge to capture). Bonus High Resolution Images - https://imgur.com/gallery/1bV8ocV (Some photos are not mine. I didn't have the reaction time to get the C-130 that snuck up on us)
