The river was about to breach the low point of the Columbia Turnpike by the MMU airport this morning. I suspect later tonight or early tomorrow it will be closed.

That area can flood badly.  Used to work weekends at ION Weather at the base of the airport tower and saw it flood several times in the early to late 90's.  The area from the Cadillac dealer to Airport Road used to be impassable.  Horrible detours.  Usual 20 min drive would take me 60 minutes with zero traffic at 5am.

5.7:1 really nice ratios there ;-)

yeah i dont pay attention those, however, in this case its probably right due to it raining/when he took the sample/etc.

but ive seen some wild numbers in those ratios on cocorahs all the way from 100:1 to 1:1

Supposedly Fire Island breached at Ocean Beach and they had to cut the substation there. Crazy. I saw a quote that someone there said the flooding was worse than Sandy.

Yea read that on Newsday. The dunes are gone. Very bad

And not for nothing, what about the rest of us that have to get to work today but had to show up 3 hours late so they teachers could stroll in 2 hours later?

You do what any responsible adult does in bad weather, assuming you dont have a crisis at home, you hit the road early and arrive when you are supposed to arrive

Right so when the teachers have their own kids who have to get on a bus at a certain time, how are they supposed to leave early? Leave the kids home alone?
