fountainguy97
18z gfs defitnely a big shift toward EURO with more focus on holding back that piece. Initial frontal stuff dies out.
Holston_River_Rambler
Yeah that looked like a big jump to hold more back. Let’s see if it can carve its way toward the gulf.
fountainguy97
Yeah this run won't do anything for us but a major trend toward euro with holding back the energy. Euro leading the way.
John1122
GFS pops a low 150 miles of Hattaras and just leaves the energy in the Gulf doing nada. But the GFS also has a progressive bias in opposition to the Euro holding back bias. I believe it's because the GFS has a high stronger than any other model this get shoved south.

Holston_River_Rambler
Yeah that was like the worst possible weather scenario if you want more than flurries and virga outside of Arkansa and maybe Memphis, Dyersburg and Union City. Not saying it will happen, but a way to fail, as is the custom.

Holston_River_Rambler
Cross polar flow and a big low spinning in the west Pac off the coast of Mexico. Snow in Louisiana: Obviously out in la la land but that would be something to see.

The NIL has turned the college football into a mini NFL league. The kids play for money now. Rumor is Kirby is going to go to the Atlanta Falcons the day of coaches and kids sticking around are done. No loyalty. No more 1 team winning every year. Soon many of the great traditional games will be a thing of past. The SEC is already different. To think SMU in the ACC. Crazy times.

PowellVolz
Guys in the southern valley might want to keep an eye on the Saturday severe across the south. MRX even mentioned that if the central valley had a little more CAPE it would be interesting .

Silas Lang
Oof, the 18z GFS. Is this essentially the part where we lose the storm? Timing is about right.

I think it is more that it is following the Euro trend of holding the energy back and popping a low off the coast. More of a potential boom or bust scenario for us in east TN I believe.
ShawnEastTN
Oof, the 18z GFS. Is this essentially the part where we lose the storm? Timing is about right. Hopefully it's a transition from the frontal passage scenario to a full blown storm. Will be interesting to see 0Z tonight. Euro went to popping a low, hopefully that is what GFS is heading toward. If we can get a low, get the front to stall or slow dramatically and the low head north we are in better shape than just Fropa.Sent from my Pixel 7 using Tapatalk

tnweathernut
Someone needs to start a thread for this system so we can have somewhere to track it or kill it off....... lol The NWS offices are talking about it, so makes sense to pull the trigger.
Holston_River_Rambler
18z EPC control dug and slowed the trailing shortwave a lot more: 18z control on the left, 12z OP on right Doesn't quite go out far enough, but I suspect that was about to be a nice Miller A. 4
Holston_River_Rambler
Actually I thought that was the 12z OP, but that is the 12z Control. Here is the 12z OP at the same time stamp: apologies. 4

Is that why it looked to lose the system? In other words, it just wasn't there yet as in it slowed down. I thought it went poof.
Holston_River_Rambler
I think it’s just a matter of which s/w the focus is on. The first one is trending more weak sauce. But the second one is trending deeper and slower, at least so far.
