Infer what you want from that information. There are two ski areas that I have never seen any proof of actual standardized measuring going on. 2

Typhoon Tip
All this beady-eyed frenetic tapping and clicking on these model runs for a futile lost cause ... haha. It strikes me as the seen in "Princes Bride," whereupon Count Rugen was admiring the pain he caused and as Wesley above all else still rises to his feet, ... Rugen says, "Good heavens! Are you still trying to win?"

NeonPeon
There has been a lot of consistency on this non-event event. Something to check the confirmation bias. I guess it's not a very complicated system though. I want to have enough snow to go sledding with the kids first thing saturday morning. We are on the line of that being possible... you need a decent amount with fluff. Small accumulations and big stakes for the kids. There are more sleds in my basement than we have had inches of snow this season.

CoastalWx
I don’t disagree with Alan. Frankly that ridge seems weak and transitory. Looks like the Pacific jet will eliminate any cold after a few days in February. 3

I'm exhausted by all of the hand-wringing and writing the past several years for what has amounted to very little winter. Ready to just say "fuc k it" and hope a high-ACE La Nina changes things next year....this would make six consecutive well below normal snowfall seasons for me.

Doesn’t mean it’s cancelled, but that EPO ridge looked better a few days ago. Maybe we can catch a break for once and have a fun stretch next week and be on the good side of the boundary. You probably have the best shot of all of us.
40/70 Benchmark
The last several years, what can go wrong, goes wrong....if we get blocking, you'll hear "More useless blocking, the Pacific is king".....and if we get a decent Pacific "Well, we don't have blocking"....and seemingly either side ends up winning the golden dildo award and rams it right up my sphincter and out my ear. 2
40/70 Benchmark
I have never, ever in my 43 years-two months and two days, seen such an atmospheric clinic in how to not snow as these past 7 years and I lived through the 1980's.
dendrite
Meh. It’s not epic looking, but there will probably be enough cold around for some events up here. It becomes a lot more dire the further south you go. Allan is definitely more Carolina centric.

Yeah we haven’t had a winter (or even a weeks-long pattern) in a while where we kind of sit in a more favorable spot than the middle and western part of the country. We’ve frequently been the worst.
