We can like big wind and snow. Look at how this thread took off when it started getting interested.

We obviously don’t hope for people to get hurt yada yada…

The minute models started printing out 60-80 mph gusts. Everyone got very excited. There were people that admitted it.. and there were people that denied and debbied . These happen more often than the debs admit . At least there was no snow to melt in SNE.

We are one lane to and from the ski resort now.  This photo was earlier today before the culvert failed a second time and ate the entire northbound lane of RT 108 heading to the ski area.

VTrans installed temporary traffic lights to keep the road open unless it fails a third time.  Stowe now has two traffic lights.

I would expect power by tomorrow at our house but who knows. Cmp hasn't even estimated time to repair yet

What probably really sucks is they really can’t get out there and do anything or fully assess until conditions improve. Probably have to wait until morning at this rate.

I’d bump a certain someone’s posts who meh’d it all ( not you) but I’ll not do it . They know and we’ll wait for the admittance

It’s interesting to see how much of a difference a 30-40 or 35-45 mph gust event is vs something along the lines of 50-60. I certainly was not expecting that.

When we see potential for widespread winds of 50-60+ they need to be played up. Just look at what happens in the summer when we get gusts 50-60. Granted the trees are fully leaved but it doesn’t take much to knock trees down here and for power outages to soar.

The dude had one guitar lesson as a teenager and figured it out from there on his own, obviously a natural.

And what a lot of peeps don’t know.. he had been writing songs for many country singers for years (Garth Brooks, Luke Bryan etc etc) and was always shy, and didn’t like to sing or perform , even though they all knew he had that voice. He was finally coerced to perform and sing and overcame that and in his early 40’s became one of the top 3 country artists almost overnight . Dude is just unbelievably talented . Even people anti country like Scooter @CoastalWxlike his stuff.

Maybe McGulps will weigh in, but biggest seas I have seen in RI. Novelty waves breaking way up the bay and Block buoy was 30' all day. Ocean is mean.

Monster fetch developed

Block Island Bouy was 25 feet Swell@ 15 seconds . That’s like N shore Hawaii size

Good luck finding something higher in another storm

Looks like the power will probably be out here until about Wednesday. Just taking a quick stroll down our street there are limbs down everywhere and a line that took a few hits as well. Not a good situation but at least we have a gennie here to run at the most critical times and it’s a drop in the bucket compared to the oct 2021 blowdown that leveled practically every third tree. Plus it’s fairly mild for this time of year too. Thank the lord for that!
