Moderate Rain and 40 here in Gray, ME. Doesn't bode well I'm getting lots of power flicking and the wind hasn't even picked up yet...

We are over by Crystal Lake in Gray and have noticed it flicker a times.  I  thought we had some electrical gremlins in the house.

I think the cold is coming in now, just dropped to 30.2F at the top of the Quad.
35F at 2600ft and 36F at 1600ft.
850mb and 925mb cold we’re pacing at similar times so once it starts snowing at elevation it should drop to 1500ft pretty fast.

It’s weird, it was broken for so long but they seemed to fix it… always out of date and stuff.

One of the better p-type radars out there IMO.

That looks like the old Unisys one.

Lol, thanks. It's been busted since Nov 6. Been using it on my website for years then it was dead.

Upton thinks it might be a special night..

A very strong LLJ of 60-65 kt providing a classic warm tongue at 850 and 925 mb, along with a trough going negatively tilted is suggestive of an active night. This saturated deep layer column shown by all guidance and upstream soundings only increases confidence for a significant event

I always loved it. Glad to see it's somewhat back.

I'm on Gray FD. Something came down on Yarmouth RD and I think whatever was frying over there made the whole area flicker before Yarmouth RD tripped out. Looking at wind maps now I'd say that's about the most action we'll see

Yup.

It was Intellicast before Wunderground and IDK what before that, although I talked with someone who helped to develop mosaic radar in the '80s and I think it might be a direct descendant.

And, yeah, it has been breaking for a while. Even before Nov 6, it would sometime be hours out of date. Right now, even, the static image shows 0115Z, but if you click the "animate" the frames end at 2345Z.

Plenty of UI deprecation. In the past the animated site had a separate URL, now you have to navigate to the main site and click "animate." Even worse is how their regional sites work. You have to select the list of sites from a list, which has two big UI issues. 1) The sites are pretty random. I happen to know that BGM, BML and HFD are the ones nearby here, as well as STC, DSM, DEN and RNO elsewhere (and others I knew when the site was … less frequently broken). 2) The cities are scattershot and they are alphabetized by city, not state. This is not helpful! There used to be a navigation panel to jump to a nearby site, now you have to use this list, which is, for all intents and purposes, unindexed. Simply alphabetizing the list by state and not city would be a big help.

What I will say is that this site is very web 1.0. It loads jpgs and gifs. It uses dropdown lists. You can easily replace the site in the URL with a new site and it loads. If you put in an unsupported site, it loads to the national map.

A lot of current designers could learn from this!

I’m not sure what it is there, but I find those night live cams make rain look like snow.  Easily fooled on those cams, but looks like flakes either way.

Yeah I can't tell on my cams at home alot of the time. Seems like some frozen mixed in there, but hard to tell for sure. 35-36 and slowly dropping on the meso stations nearby
