katabatic
The changeover in Garrett County has begun. One observation of note: the temperature drop, while steady, has hardly been precipitous. I averaged ~2 degrees per hour over the last ~10 hours (54.3 to 36.3 now). Hoping for folks still in the 50s, the gradient sharpens east of the BR so the cold air overlaps with the moisture for as long as possible.

Hit the car, get on Rt 28 and speed north to Rt 7 then Rt 9 past Paeonian Springs to Hillsboro, head straight for the State Border! It going to snow HARD up there and it will likely pile up! This is a very good time to be in the Rt 9 region! They have elevation. Why not hit up Charles Town Races and Slots, get in your snow fix while winning about 2,000 dollars on Craps? 87storms
Beneficial soaker so far, but overall, this event seems a bit underwhelming. Looks like 0.5"-1.0" areawide for the most part and the radar is spotty to the west...at least for now. 2

On the HRRR it’s partly because it’s bringing in the best banding earlier before it gets cold enough to do much good.
