Chilliest morning since January 20th across most of Chester County this AM. With the solid snow cover across most of the County lows were in the teens in most areas (see attached). A little below normal temperatures for today through mid-week then some warming before our next chance of rain by Thursday night.
Records for today: High 72 Phoenixville (2011) / Low Phoenixville 11 below (1979) / Precipitation 1.59" KMQS Airport (2008) / Snow 10" Coatesville (1979)

Same here our low was 18 down here at the foot of the fall line. We had 3" on the ground now we lost 80% of that at this point.

3-4  more inches for Macungie- any takers?  2 feet of snow in 5 days is enough for me this winter  How about you Ralph?  LOL IMG_5280.png

Don't know if this is the one or not. But I'm confident we haven't seen the last of the winter weather for the season. Hey, if you get forecast for double the amount expected at my locale again, you got a spare room? Might need to chase :sled:

Erie is the biggest red flag on the list indicating the lack of cold air flow from Canada.

All of the lake-hugging cities are well below their norms but agree that Erie being at just 1/4 of their average, is pretty telling.  The Great Lakes ice coverage has been almost non-existent.

As some quick obs - I made it up to 42 yesterday after a cold 22 start and some dry arctic dps.  This morning started out much milder although the temps are slowly dropping pre-dawn and am currently at my low of 30 this morning with dp 20.

A fairly typical late February weather pattern with most days this week running a little below average but rising to above average by Thursday. Out next chance of rain looks to be Thursday night.
Chester County Records for today: High 74 Phoenixville (1948) / Low 4 below West Chester (1979) / Precipitation 1.86" Devault (1979) / Snow Devault 18.0" (1979)

Still a solid 4" snow cover here in East Nantmeal. This is our 7th consecutive day with snow cover our longest such stretch since the 7 days between January 28, 2022 and February 3, 2022. Tomorrow will mark the longest stretch (8) since the 32 days with consecutive snow cover from January 31, 2021 through March 3, 2021

Outside of shaded areas we are back to zero.  However, the shaded areas look like a solid 3" still.

Made it up to 41 today with a 30 low.  And yes I too see snowpack around (not including the plowed mounds) in any N/NE-facing grassy areas (S/SW-facing was long gone).

Currently mostly sunny behind a cirrus haze and 40 with dp 21.

That’s what’s so surprising about the coverage I have facing SW!

My front faces SW where my car is and there were a couple small lonely patches there in front of it where I dumped snow clearing it (it's a SUV), but agree... And am still surprised at what is still out there on grassy areas.  I think that last snowfall was a fluffy water-laden layer that compacted and then became glacier the past couple nights so it would take much more energy to get rid of that.  If it had been more powdery, it probably would have started to disappear faster.

Our nice stretch of late winter weather continues till Thursday evening when some rain arrives. Much warmer next week we might even hit 60 degrees in some spots!

Still have some persistent N/NE-facing grassy area snowpack that has helped in nighttime cooling. It has slowly eroded but is hanging in there.  I expect the progged rain and warm up will do some damage to that.

Had a low of 24 yesterday and finally made it to a high of 41 at almost 4 pm.

Low (so far) this morning has been 25 and it's currently 26 with dp still in the teens at 19.
