@John1122, I hope you don't mind me making a new obs thread.

Grayson Co, VA, had a decent amount of ZR this morning as cold got trapped in the mountains.  Just looking at social media it was a mess.  Anyway, it is raining here at TRI w/ a temp of 43F.  This is about completely the opposite of our fall weather patter which was dry and hot.   Let's hope this continues.

Thunder overhead in downtown Kingsport. I'm sure there's an old Wive's Tale about "Thunder in December" but I'm unsure what that would entail. With my luck maybe "unexpected appearances by an ex-wife" or "leaky head gaskets by Christmas" or some such. Shame my old Mamaw isn't here to enlighten me to the portent of this storm!

Snow showers on RadarScope near Dandridge.  Anyone have any reports of that being legit?

I thought I noticed a little mixing this morning before I left for work-I’m about 45min from Dandridge on Cherokee Lake where Hamblen and Hawkins county border.

W NC peeps and SW VA folks, if you have any snow let us now.  @BlunderStorm, did you all get any snow?

To add a really late response to that question yes and no. I'm actually attending classes at ETSU so I was in JC for this one. Had nothing to report there... but... My folks back in Honaker said there was a light dusting on the tips of the grass and on other elevated surfaces. I'd call it a trace I reckon.

Speaking of obs, this morning back in SWVA is a bit dicey precip type wise. Hovering around 37-38 and I think I see a bit of mix. Nothing will come of it but kinda neat unless I'm seeing things.

Awesome.  Thanks for the update.  Good luck with your classes!  Welcome to the TRI crew.....
