DocATL
A few nibbles and a couple small perch, nothing I kept. Up until 1998 Teal was the source of drinking water for Negaunee. It has remained a motorized free lake so not very popular for fishing in the non-winter months. There's some nice perch, walleye, and crappie. In the summer I fish the coves from my yak and have taken some nice bass. Woke up to 37 degrees, fog, with just patches of snow left. Hard to believe it's Christmas Eve.Feels like Easter Sunday.. 1

Brian D
After a couple overcast, foggy, drizzly days, the main thrust of precip is working its way in today. Limited, shallow frost in the area will allow most of the rain to soak in, which is good news.

Current record is 46, the forecast high tomorrow is 55. The low tomorrow might be warmer then the previous record high. It’s funny. I’m in my first winter in the Midwest after 13 years in the south and it’s been a piece of cake!.

OrdIowPitMsp
Our ~32 hour rain event is underway. Temps maxed out at 54 degrees. Minneapolis seems to be in the sweet spot to end up in the warm sector longer then almost every other area in the Midwest. The cold tongue punches quite a bit southeast of us. MQT: It's official, with no snow on the ground at 7 am EST, this is just the 4th brown Christmas on record at NWS Marquette (since 1961). The other years were 1994, 2006, and 2015. This is the first year on record that there has not even been a trace of snow on the ground. We aren't alone; much of the US is lacking a White Christmas this year. Snow depth is below normal nearly everywhere across the CONUS. Unfortunately for those hoping for a return to more normal winter weather, the 8-14 day and especially the 3-4 week projections from the Climate Prediction Center continue to favor above normal temperatures and below normal precipitation in the UP into mid-January.
Brian D
0.65" of rain so far, with another band moving in right now. Going to my daughters later this aftrn for our family get together, so I hope it stops by then. Kids, grandkids, ext fam, and friends makes for big gatherings. I spoil my grandkids with bags of candy, and cash. Simple, and effective. They love it. Usually buy 2 5lb bags of Rolos, and split that up, and give $5-$100 in cash depending on age.
