Yes. I'm cautious and know the lake pretty well. In an average winter there's up to 30+ shanties out on the ice at any given time, and at this point last season I was driving my full-size chevy truck on it. The low tomorrow might be warmer then the previous record high. Last year Minneapolis stayed below zero on 12/22-23 and only rose to 7 on 12/24. A few nibbles and a couple small perch, nothing I kept. Up until 1998 Teal was the source of drinking water for Negaunee. It has remained a motorized free lake so not very popular for fishing in the non-winter months. There's some nice perch, walleye, and crappie. In the summer I fish the coves from my yak and have taken some nice bass. Woke up to 37 degrees, fog, with just patches of snow left.
