My thoughts for the 2nd half of Dec warrant this. When you have to, you have to. :)  Sometimes they taste horrible, but others....not so bad.  Let's see how the rest of my forecast goes that I posted earlier.(Most of Jan seasonable/mild with late Jan thru most of Feb being seasonable/colder with a seasonable/warmer end).

Low of only 33 overnight. Might be my last day on the lake for about a week. Ice is 4 inches but getting a little soupy.
decent shot at some lake enhanced snow in about 5 days. 1.5” of snow left up at the house.

Maybe I'm silly but if it isn't gonna be snowy, I think gloomy is the next best Christmas weather. Keeps some of the coziness alive. Every other week the depression weather can piss off though

In the 90s (my single life days) we would play Bocce Ball on Christmas day when temps were in the 50s .    Maybe I should start doing that again this year with the family.

Be careful. Someone drowned in Northwest Minnesota overnight after their ATV fell through the ice.

Yes. I'm cautious and know the lake pretty well.

In an average winter there's up to 30+ shanties out on the ice at any given time, and at this point last season I was driving my full-size chevy truck on it.

How were the fish biting, also what do you catch in Teal Lake?

A few nibbles and a couple small perch, nothing I kept.  Up until 1998 Teal was the source of drinking water for Negaunee.  It has remained a motorized free lake so not very popular for fishing in the non-winter months.  There's some nice perch, walleye, and crappie.  In the summer I fish the coves from my yak and have taken some nice bass.

Woke up to 37 degrees, fog, with just patches of snow left.  Hard to believe it's Christmas Eve.
