Nov 25-26th Snow Event

Chicago Storm

The first widespread event of the season is on tap for tonight and Sunday, across a decent chunk of the sub-forum.

Guidance has trended towards slightly better phasing between the southern trough/wave coming out of the Plains and a northern trough/wave along the Canada/Northern Plains border.

Looks like a widespread 1-3” event.

This system exceeded the model predictions.  I finished with a real nice 4.1 inches of snow from 0.34" of liquid.  The heaviest snow fell in the 3-4am period, when I was asleep, but some decent fluffy stuff lingered after sunrise.

Just a couple days ago this was looking like a weak nothingburger, maybe up to an inch in spots.

Haven't had snow since Halloween, though the ground has snow on it November 1st. It's gonna be a sloppy white rain in dtw but I'm interested in les band potential tomorrow

Been on/off pouring here since noon. Despite the steady 33F most everything has a layer of white. What one more degree could've done, lol. Certainly impressed with a nice performance on a S wind, warmest hours of the day, and very little climo support for acuumulating snowfall when Thanksgiving comes earlier.

Anyhow, beats what many east of me have going on like noted by@Stevo6899
