Its heavy and extends all the way to Blacksburg. I think it'll set up north of the last band so you should do well in SP.

ldub23
Unless something changes alot 4-6 seems very unlikely, 2 will probably do it here. Just light stuff to the west.

Stormpc
First band ready to push off the coast. Little bit of a lull ready to push into the south side of Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina before the Redevelopment out by Rocky Mount comes through. I suspect that will be something other than snow here but it looks real nice now. Everything is covered. Looks like a real storm. 31.0/29. I've got my fix for the year. I'm good. Enjoy this further north. I'm hoping everyone gets a little surprise. 2

RIC Airport
0.09" of QPF at RIC at mostly 28°F so one of the recent model runs already busted. I'm pretty sure I saw a 0.08" one something earlier today.

Siberian-Snowcover-Myth
Looks like to my untrained eyes, RIC to Petersburg could be setting up in heavy bands shortly.

chris624wx
Starting to feel like a bust here. We had that initial snow band that put down maybe .5. Turned the grass and roofs white but it's been a mix for the past 45 minutes or so.

Unfortunately you can see it on radar, models had this possibility for the south side, but surprised it’s happening this early.
RIC Airport
It also could be rate dependent so could change back to all snow.

Yeah, we've been in some light returns so hopefully that's it. Think we'll be lucky to get to the low end 2''

chris624wx
Okay, we've flipped back to snow. I think it was rate dependent. Hopefully these heavier returns continue for the next few hours!

RIC Airport
RIC recorded 1.0" through midnight. The heaviest rates of the night started after that so I think reaching 2.5-3" is certainly possible before things begin to wind down.

ldub23
sleet and rain wins again here. Seems to be mostly rain with the thin snow on the roads quickly melting. Maybe 1.5 of snow before the rain. All rain now it seems. Odd how the radars insist its snowing, lol. This winter is worse than the last 4. I would rather have nothing than ugly slop. Raining hard now

chris624wx
Yep, feel pretty confident calling this one a bust. Just went out walking near Ghent and there's maybe a half inch of snow, but it's a mixture of sleet and snow falling now. Still nice to see, but lackluster. I wasn't jealous of my family and friends back in Georgia for their snow because I thought I'd be getting that and at least a bit more, but now I'm kind of jealous. Still a lot of winter left so hopefully we get another storm without a pesky warm nose. Happy for y'all that actually got a few inches and not slop! Time to get some sleep now.

RIC Airport
A few pics taken in the last 10 mins. This is the Newtown area of Williamsburg, 2 miles SW of W&M campus. Looking at the radar, I'm guessing 4" is probably within reason before this is over. 11 1

Yeah, I was up in Calvert, md for last storm so got my fill of snow for a bit. It anyways has changed over to just snow here and coming down heavy.
