Starting to feel like a bust here. We had that initial snow band that put down maybe .5. Turned the grass and roofs white but it's been a mix for the past 45 minutes or so.

Unfortunately you can see it on radar, models had this possibility for the south side, but surprised it’s happening this early.

Okay, we've flipped back to snow. I think it was rate dependent. Hopefully these heavier returns continue for the next few hours!

Excellent! I think things are about to get better, getting into the heart of the event now.

sleet and rain wins again here. Seems to be  mostly rain with the thin snow  on the roads quickly  melting. Maybe  1.5 of snow before the rain. All rain now  it seems. Odd how the radars  insist  its snowing, lol. This winter is worse than the  last 4. I would rather  have  nothing than ugly  slop. Raining  hard  now

But you're still below freezing so freezing rain? I had about a 45 min period of sleet, but back to snow and up to 2.2" now.

Near ft Eutis with this heavy band, snow main precip type but also sleet and freezing rain.

Yep, feel pretty confident calling this one a bust. Just went out walking near Ghent and there's maybe a half inch of snow, but it's a mixture of sleet and snow falling now.

Still nice to see, but lackluster. I wasn't jealous of my family and friends back in Georgia for their snow because I thought I'd be getting that and at least a bit more, but now I'm kind of jealous.

Still a lot of winter left so hopefully we get another storm without a pesky warm nose. Happy for y'all that actually got a few inches and not slop!

Time to get some sleep now.

AKQ is acknowledging this will lead to reduced totals. :(

Yeah, I was up in Calvert, md for last storm so got my fill of snow for a bit.  It anyways has changed over to just snow here and coming down heavy.

Glad you switched back to snow, there is still time before things end so hopefully you can finish with 3-4" at least.

0.29" of QPF at RIC through 4 a.m. at 28°F is easily 3 to 3.5" of snow from this event. Maybe it'll come in a PNS statement later this morning; otherwise, we will have to wait until the CLI is sent around 5:30 p.m. to know the storm total.

Under an inch...Probably. 5 to .8 before it flipped it to freezing rain during that second batch. Never got above 32. Still at freezing right now. The trees are glazed. Otherwise whatever snow fell is matted own into a sloppy coating. About what I expected. Hoped for 1.5, got half. But for a living right on the shore of the Currituck the temperature was not the problem.  Warming aloft did us in and everyone across the south side and away from the peninsula and further north. Still looked really nice for about an hour when everything was covered including the streets.

In the end all the ideas of the heaviest snows being south and east of Richmond was correct. Fun little event.
