seether
Well I think we all owe this storm a bit of an appologie haha, This thing way overperformed and were damn near 9 inches now, if it keeps snowing for about an hour or so we will hit double digits for the first time in god knows how long. If you send that in to NWS, it'll likely be thrown out as erroneous and not included in any official report. I'm not seeing anything close to 9" anywhere around Chester. But, I agree, the back end saved the day.

This is the highest report in chester at 4.1" the snowflakes are storm reports of no more than 4" all around you. Congrats on the 5" extra super band in your backyard totals! 1

Inudaw
Snow pretty much done now. 5 measurements... all between 4.5 and 5" ... Place where I have been measuring was just shy of 5" . I'll go with 4.75" as the final for my yard near the airport. ^^

Siberian-Snowcover-Myth
Seen a lot of sarcastic comments this week from the Nova folks on these boards, about Richmond….. Glad to see Hampton area cash in while Nova got scraps. Doesn’t happen very often. I would say this was a win from Richmond to VB. 9
Stormpc
Hampton Roads cashing in on a great event. Heavy snow piling up after that late afternoon sleet fest. Windy, blowing and drifting ongoing. Temps down to 27.5 after getting over 31 a few hours ago. Came close to plain rain. GREAT EVENT. Not looking forward to shoveling my snow that is layered with sleet. Not the fluffy stuff like y'all have further North. Have a legit shot at double digits. 4

overcautionisbad
One more yard to verify. So 4 inches. I overestimated only slightly. Hell might still verify if that 2nd wave dumps a shower with one more inch.

Stormpc
We are still getting heavy rates down here just South of the Border in North Carolina along the coast. The totals all across the board are going to be impressive to say the least. A storm that reached the higher ends of the forecasted amounts. Very well modeled for this small geographic region as well. Nice job. This will probably be it for us. And that's perfectly fine. A great winter. A+ for my area for sure. Two 7+ inch snow events in season. What a rarity. Doesn't look like we're going to get much action from the upper energy tomorrow but we'll see. Those are always tricky. Tomorrow night's cold is going to be impressive. Good night all and congrats. 3 1
chris624wx
Looks like we're going to wind down here in Norfolk pretty soon. One last band pushing through now. chris624wx
Right around 10" in between Ghent and Downtown Norfolk! What a storm! I've officially just witnessed my top snowstorm. The previous one was when I was in college at UGA in January 2011. The Athens Airport officially record 8.8" in that storm. Congrats to all who cashed in! This will be one we talk about for a while here in Hampton Roads. Now, bring on the pollen and 70°F!

DT exaggerates so would need to verify the exact numbers. ORF may not get every storm but they've gotten more big ones than RIC. They also have a longer period of record so when you include February 2025, this is now the 8th time they've recorded a top 10 snowiest month this century, whereas RIC has only had 4 such occurrences. Here are the CLI reports for yesterday. ORF should add to theirs slightly since it was still snowing after midnight. Both stations also have a shot depending on the performance of the ULL later this morning, but both HRRR and 3K NAM seem to have it struggling once it gets east of the mountains.
