RIC Airport
3 minutes ago, Stormpc said: Yeah it's frustrating. Always were on the fence but looks like you're going to be 20 mi too far south for this one. Maybe the next big burst will cool the column enough to flip you back in the next 90 minutes. Whatever happens between now and four p.m. is the time. After that the column warms all the way. You might be looking at plain old rain by 6:00 p.m. sucks. Another shot next week?

Conway7305
Sleet 1/2 mixing in with the snow now. . I can hear it hitting the deck. I don’t mean to be a downer , but this storm was a pretty big bust at least in SP. They were calling for 6-7 inches here and we have an inch. I may not be factorng in melt but just too warm. We need thermal below 32. Onto the next storm.

eaglesin2011
lol the sleet mix helped it accumulate on the roads hopefully we stay in the heavy band and stay this way for a few hours but it’s basically coming straight down now so we will see

Although, just got a burst back to heavy snow here.
Conway7305
On A positive note, it was nice to actually see the heavy snow during the day and not at night…lol 1

JB Fins
Yeah, that Route 54 pic in Ashland, just 20 min. north a stark difference to here. I am disappointed as well. We always switch over early, even since when I was a kid calling 268-1212 for the NWS forecast brought to you by C&P Telephone.

JB Fins
Yeah, I was thinking the same. While I hate the changeover, it will be more impactful. Might give the kiddos another day of virtual learning, at least in Henrico.

RVAman
All sleet here in western Henrico. Left work 20 mins ago. Several cars in accidents on 64. One truck was upside down near Glenside drive. If you’re one of the people going 10mph in the fast lane (I mean literally 10mph) on the highway, please just stay home.
RVAman
Heavier bands out to the west may make their way over here to allow more snow.
RVAman
If more snow falls in an hour or so we could see a bit higher totals but 1-2 inches is pretty much spot on at this point. Not the best but hey at least we tracked something and have white on the ground. LR models are saying we aren’t done yet.

eaglesin2011
I’m doubting we get much more measurable snow in this area, with temps rising aloft .. Roads are gonna be pretty treacherous for the next few hours especially back roads and the father north u are

JFLETCHER
Up here in Bowling Green in Caroline county we probably have between 3-4 inches so far. Route 301 is just 1 lane up here. It is a mess.
