Little disappointed how we busted low but this winter is already better than last few winters so can’t complain so much .   Also, next three weeks looks like we got more potential coming.

I had low expectations coming into it due to the NAM and EURO. While I knew it wouldn’t perform the way we all wanted there were moments of truly beautiful snow. Heaviest bands I’ve seen in a long long time.

Gonna be a LONG week tracking the next one. We should start seeing something consistent by Friday or Saturday, we should assume. Both majors have something on the table for next Wednesday Thursday. Starting to get into Euro's hot range. But give the GFS credit for being pretty good with yesterday's storm. Too far south to start with but it did adjust North but might have been 30 miles or so off on the southern end. That's not terrible. If I'm in Central Virginia away from the coast I'm feeling pretty good about next week at this time.

The big storm is still on the board on the GFS. Most of us would rather take the Canadian version which has a more offshore and southern track.

Pretty nice winter storm for the Middle Atlantic the past 24 hours. Lot more ice than I thought. The snow did exactly what it was supposed to do, and where it was supposed to.

We need that Saturday system to go through New England to see how it sets up next week's storm. Exciting times for sure.

Loving my cold rain! I never want anything to do with an ice storm. Experienced many growing up in the favorable CAD areas in NE Georgia.

Agree. There's nothing good about ice. Serves zero purpose. Back in the mid-90s through early 2000s we used to get several ice events in NOVA. Nothing much the last 15 years. We can debate about why for days on end.

Hopefully that storm next week gets a lot of people involved on this board, from the southeast through new england. Each of these storms have been very regional this year.

Yeah, see my previous post, there is stuff going on today affecting a lot of businesses.  Delayed email or not getting delivered, circuits flapping, I know a major artery for internet up and down the east coast goes through Ashburn and they were have trouble earlier, still must be.

Really? Interesting.  I saw the Euro was down but I didn't know it was a larger scale issue affecting other things. One of those Ashburn data centers is the possible culprit.  Those buildings are hilarious. They're about a quarter mile long and wide and are six cars parked in the lot.

Not for us on the coast if it stays that flat and doesn't dig down to the Gulf, unfortunately

EURO says no sir and GFS here’s 1 inch. Womp womp.

It’s just one run of the Euro, over a week out so will flip around some.  GFS,  I have lost faith in after the last storm.

Yes-at this point it's just seeing if the ingredients are still around and they certainly are. Anybody thinking a particular run that happens to miss means a fail is being premature just like a run that shows a foot a week out.

Mmm, no. Not really premature. The GFS was so incredibly wrong about this weeks storm it cannot be trusted unless it redeems itself in a huge way. The euro is shifting this thing west as it usually does and likely will continue to do. If I’m mistaken, I said 1-2 all along for Tuesdays system while other numbers were being thrown around. I stand by the EURO as it has proven its worthiness. The NAM also did extremely well while the HRRR didn’t. If you think it’s premature to say this scenario won’t likely happen, that’s fine. I stand by what I think is accurate.

This will be my only reply as I'm not going back-and-forth. Parts of RVA got up to 5 inches. So one to two was not correct JUST LIKE MY 3-5 WAS NOT CORRECT because actually it was 1-5 or whatever the max was.

Again this will be my only reply regarding this, but OF COURSE it's premature to think there is no chance for something a week away. 90% of folks on here will agree with this. It's not personal it's just weather.
