My question is, when will we finally have a pure snowstorm again?

Especially after the ice being responsible for this water fiasco in Richmond. We certainly don’t need more ice.

Still wondering the same, maybe better luck Friday night into Saturday for a 3-6" event and no ice or slop in between.

Dec. 2004 + Dec. 2010 redux?

I feel like every so many years, there’s a monster storm, and it very narrowly only clobbers Hampton Roads and no one else.

Don’t get me wrong, of course. Good for them! They get snow even less than we do!

1/29/2022, 1/22/2022,  2/20/2020, 2//26/2015, 1/7/2017, 2/26/2015, 1/29/2014, etc. Plenty of examples.

It was looking good for Hampton Roads until it drove the low through Greenville, NC. Not what we want to see here.

Good hit for the interior though

Really warms too relatively speaking right at the end of the storm

Yeah, I’d take this in a heartbeat over anything with more ice.

Richmond *STILL* doesn’t have water in most neighborhoods.

Hanover having issues, too. And I just saw that there was another malfunction at the city treatment site. Hang in there! I hope you have access to water or some friends who are not affected and can provide you a place to shower or something. I'm sure they are working around the clock to resolve the situation

Expecting either a 2-4 event or a 4-6 event for this weekend. It could bomb as well. THIS is a setup we want, for us here in Central VA and yall down in the south east. Too bad it’s on a Friday into Saturday and not Sunday into Monday again.

Also, this is a good sign for the rest of winter. It’s the first week of January and we received a 6” storm. That’s the first time in a long long while around these parts. We could end up being well above average by the end of March.

I got right at  4” from this past storm here in Varina. Wouldn’t mind another 4” to get me near climo, this early in the season. I think right now, we’re in a good spot for this next event.

Did you account for the additional snowfall last night? RIC got 6 total from the storm. Actually surprised it melted as much as it did today. It never “felt” like 6 inches were on the ground at one time.

Actually I didn’t. It may have been closer to 5”. I was surprised also how quick it had melted.

It was revised down to 3.5" this afternoon. Admittedly the 6" was too high and not representative of area reports. Not the first time this has happened.

I'd much rather be on the north side of a storm for once. It's not sexy, but give me 3" with no mixing issues and I'm happy.

For SE VA this  is a good track. GFS will probably  end  up more  north
