Especially on the internet. If your cynicism was to be believed, then it would mean the models all went to hell today, and that’s not what happened. They converged and came to a consensus. Some models ticked south, and some ticked north. Everything else seems to have remained the same. If all of the current data holds true, we will see more snow than we’ve seen in awhile, even if it isn’t as much as we’d like. But yes, it is Richmond. You *could* be right. It doesn’t mean you *will* be right. I personally don’t care that much, it’s been so long that we’ve gone without. Hell, if I woke up to 50 degrees and rain tomorrow, I’d laugh.

eaglesin2011
This is why I don’t post much here .. The storm hasn’t even started yet & people are going nutty.. Dry air? that’s always at the start of every storm.. some of you either need to stop drinking or start and come back around 10pm By then there should be some decent action started and a better idea where this will all go .. smh lol 6
Sernest14
It’s crazy! If you watch the models and then see the radar, it’s actually better than modeled at the moment 1

Expect the worst and hope for the best. It’s just nice to even have chances especially 5 days into Jan.

That’s why whenever the heavy bands set up is going to be key for the amount of snow everyone gets

SoCoWx
If we can avoid dry slotting for too long, and it does this until the early morning hours, I could see us getting at least a few inches by then.
RIC Airport
Dews rising rapidly, it's coming. Btw, RIC reached 15°F, no model it it getting that cold.
Ephesians2
I like the West to East trajectory of this band for Central VA. It's not super heavy - but accumulating nicely. 1.3" in Lynchburg.
RIC Airport
@Conway730518z Euro for this weekend. Only goes out to hour 144, so the storm is still going here, not final snow amounts. But, still encouraging to see this threat. 1

True-I talked about this yesterday. I felt like we would get a couple inches on the front end and then at least an inch or two on the back end -and my call was 3 to 5 -I think that's a little low for some areas now. Many of the models were very consistent with that front end thump.
