That’s my thoughts at this point too. Big Snows have been slowly sliding off the table since yesterday imo.

I’d be shocked in ric and surrounding counties even got 1-2 as it stands. I don’t get paid as a meteorologist though. I’m not as optimistic today and there really is not a good reason to be. Warm air is arriving faster than the good 4-5 hours of snow we should’ve been getting according to every model other than the HRRR.

I am also limited. We are great. I am inclined to think newport  news will not reach 1 inch. The streak will be going  into next winter.

You need to be limited man. You know it’s tough to get snow around your way, but this winter is least showing some potential, yet you ready to cancel winter. Just relax man

I’m gonna take a break from this forum until tomorrow morning. I fear we’ve already busted before it begins. Not trying to be a gloomer it’s just what happens here with these types of systems. I’ll be happy with 1-2 with sleet on top at this point. Good luck everyone. Hope I’m wrong!

Yes I think you need too. You are to much bro. Is the gfs model ticking north? No Its just the most south model's are ticking north and the other models kinda have ticked south and now finally meeting in the middle. Converging.... This was never our storm.... Next weekend is a way better set up for us here in Richmond then this current storm

If you don’t see every single model including the HRRR ticking north I can’t help you. The hype was built up yesterday and you and I both know it. Of course it’s frustrating when the same thing that always happens, happens again. Don’t get upset at someone for pointing out that this will be a bust.

Agreed.  At least to end the drought, you have to start somewhere.

if frustrated, I recommend staying out of the “main” thread tomorrow as we navigate our slurpee roads on the way to work, it will kill you to read about them ripping fatties up there and still won’t be satisfied with 6-8”.

Watching from my area, Euro has been the rock. It really has not bounced around like the other models. I’m hopeful for our chances in southern areas.

Good luck, think of us down here, share a few pics.

Initial wave of precipitation looks heavier and further south than modeled - moving due west to east. From a Roanoke/Lynchburg page:

Purely anecdotal, but ... my fiancée says it's snowing lightly in Winston-Salem, NC. Was supposed to be all rain for them.

I always cheer for you guys. I work in Richmond often and love to see the snow down there. Don’t count your eggs until they hatch. Let’s see what happens here. :)

Wow the precip has really filled in on radar!  Much earlier than expected.  Appears that the cold air has intruded further south than the modeling anticipated as well!

Hopefully it's a sign for possibly maximizing the front end thump.
