SchaumburgStormer
The “storm” Saturday night into Sunday looks a bit juicier than I was expecting. With nowhere to go this weekend will be nice to see some flakes.

Baum
Perfect for the kick off of Holiday season if you can't get a blizzard. Tree goes up tonight. Be nice to wake up to a coating of white for a nice setting. Good timing to say the least.
OrdIowPitMsp
Back from palm land. 75-80 everyday with dry desert air was a treat. Cold and dry greeted me back in Minneapolis. Ice starting to form on the lakes.
hawkeye_wx
We are currently getting our first light snow of the season as a weak wave moves through ahead of the main system. Regarding the main system tonight, some of the models this morning are a bit wetter and north, so we could get a couple inches.

cyclone77
Digging the little upticks in overall QPF the last 24+hrs with this system. Hoping that's a good sign for the new season. Models generally spit out around 0.2-0.25" for the QCA, so a nice 2" snowfall is what's expected.

hawkeye_wx
All models today have shifted north and wetter, so DVN has expanded the advisory up through Cedar Rapids. We could get up to 3 inches.

hawkeye_wx
The deeper-than-expected snow has really cratered the temp early in the week. A few days ago, the early-week highs were going to be in the 30s. Instead, we are struggling to get out of the teens. Tonight we are expecting single digits. We haven't risen above freezing since last Thursday. I still have some garden and garage winter prep to do. It will have to wait til we thaw out. sbnwx85
I ended up with about an inch from the system yesterday. We've had lake flurries off and on today. Looks like we could squeeze out another in or two locally tonight.
OrdIowPitMsp
Drove down to Charles City IA, as an expensive currier for my company today. Was surprised at the amount of snow otg in northern iowa compared to central/southern MN.

michsnowfreak
Snow squall warning verified here. Had a great time. Went to Detroit to Campus Martius to check out the Christmas stuff and did it in heavy snow, then followed the squall home. After all day snow flurries and light snow dropped 0.1" following yesterday's 0.2" slush, the squall dropped a quick fluffy 1.6" of snow.

My brother wanted to go downtown Detroit to dinner and check out the Christmas stuff. The squall hit as we were out, and it was such a perfect atmosphere. I figured the band would weaken some as it headed south but still snow, but instead it strengthened. As we left Detroit it had tapered to flurries but we ran right into it and drove through it the whole way home, Visibility near zero by my house briefly. It was enough to disorient you if you didn't know where you were because the traffic lights were obscured until the last minute.
OrdIowPitMsp
Down to 8 in Minneapolis. I haven’t checked but I’m sure there are some nearby rural sites that went below zero.
