New Mexico Winter Thread

Might be a pretty interesting year. I doubt many will comment here, but oh well.

I laid out my winter outlook elsewhere on the site. If I'm even remotely close NM should see a somewhat cold and snowy cold season.

My wife and I are planning a trip to Taos-Santa Fe area to look at land. Maybe a retirement destination in a few years.  Hopefully you’ll still be posting about New Mexico winters then. Would be interested to learn more about winter storm trends in the mountains of northern New Mexico. Can you repost your winter outlook.

I just found this thread I will start to post my thoughts. So far it has been a solid snow year though nothing crazy. I have a family place up near Sipapu and hope to get up that way again this winter.

 

Looks like the northern mountains will get another 6 inches tomorrow and a similar storm Sunday.

General idea was the country would be warm, but any cool spots would be in the Southwest or Southeast. I put the +/-0 line about half way through the SE and SW US which looks OK given how warm December was, with January running colder.
