Met1985
Some of us will go from 70s today to highs in the 40s. NWS says temps dropping tomorrow to 44 degrees by 5 pm. On and off showers through the weekend as well. Hopefully most can get a bit of rainfall.

This should be a pretty substantial tenperature drop by this afternoon. The petrichor smells great this morning! Sw NC weather
Received some much needed rain this morning. Don’t know exact amount since my gauge is down at the moment but I’d bet a good 1/4” fell last night and this morning.

I'm looking at close to three quarters of an inch which is a dang win at this point. We got a lot more than what the weather models were showing.
Maggie Valley Steve
Very surprised and thankful for the couple of inches that fell here in Maggie!

Tyler Penland
Looking like this coastal low into the weekend might finally shake up the pattern a bit. Both the gfs/euro looking much cooler in the extended.

wncsnow
Models are kind of all over the place in the long range. Some show cool and dry, others show the trough getting stuck and lots of rain. We could surely use it.
Maggie Valley Steve
Pattern change looking more likely as the weekend ends and the long Thanksgiving Holidays begin. Snow for Thanksgiving and beyond? It surely looks like a possibility.

BooneWX
The pattern got me excited so I have to confess that I went back several pages and read our thread from the Dec 2018 storm….man what a time! Here’s to hoping we can reel in a good one (or a few) this winter. Other than early 2022, we’ve been really devoid of a blockbuster.

Met1985
This is a chaotic weather pattern. We have the tpv dropping down, a ridge out west but then some junk in the SW trying to pump up the SE ridge against the tpv...Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
WNC_Fort
When was the last year with a lot of NWFS events or the last "big" NWFS event? Might just be recency bias but curious to see if others feel like the number of northwest flow events have been lacking compared to the 2000s/early 2010s. We haven't had the cold fronts or the moisture recently to really have a big event or a bunch of small events.
