Serious drifting and Blizzard conditions last night and constant flurries/light snow of varying intensity currently. Temp has reached 32. I can confirm those amounts at my place also at 4650 on Beech (west of Ski resort).

I went up to the top yesterday and there was almost certainly a bit more snow on the west side than on top.
Met1985
Should at least be an advisory be put out for tonight.
Maggie Valley Steve
Light snow has started at Cataloochee. I actually had a brief sleet shower a bit ago at the house.

What's your temp? I started out at 17 this morning then shot up to 60 now back to 46. A wild day in temps.
Met1985
The latest gfs looks good for a transition from rain to snow then some upslope snow on the back. Even gets Asheville some snow.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Currently 44. Dropped from 50 at 4PM. Light rain here now, but it's definitely at least a snow/rain mix above 4500 ft. Can't see Sheepback Mountain now and the top of Buck is mostly obscured.

I'm surprised the NWS didn't come out with an advisory for any of the mountains...

Tyler Penland
Yeah tonight should be real interesting. I'm surprised the NWS didn't come out with an advisory for any of the mountains...No advisory increases the chance of an over performing system by at least 50%. They're just playing reverse psychology to get us some snow. 2

Crazy, I was 29 to 50 to 42 now. That’s if my station was publishing data all day.

Yeah these temp inversions and having a legit clipper system is pretty cool. Temp at 42 currently.

Maggie Valley Steve
Down to 40 now. I'm certainly not expecting anything more than a mix at best here at 3300 ft, but I am impressed how quickly the moisture moved in and actually overcame a very dry layer this afternoon. Maybe I'll be surprised in the morning.
