Remember that the models just recently have turned more south with the axis of the main precipitation. It wasn't until the 00z gfs that things started to turn more favorable. GSP are just playing it safe because we've literally been we're TN is to only get completely screwed...

Yes, do not see light snow/flurries in Asheville with near the frequency we did 10 plus years ago.
BooneWX
NAM still doesn’t seem like it’ll finish this run where we want it but it definitely trended south from 6z
Sw NC weather
12z Nam didn’t get all the way to us, but definitely trended in the right direction. I don’t see GSP putting anything up till tomorrow morning unless things are looking great this afternoon.

The way this is trending Buncombe, Madison, and areas north could be in a nice snow band plus with the temps I would guess all snow and no rain. I guess GSP is playing it safe for now.
wncsnow
NAM and HRRR would be too far north
Buckethead
I was expecting to see the sun this morning. Instead, we're clouded in with rime ice on the trees and 16 currently. Sent from my SM-S908U using Tapatalk

StantonParkHoya
The 20th deal is really the big dog potential, particularly for WNC coastal + upslope
Met1985
The second wave is looking robust and one heck of an upslope signal still.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
Met1985
The second system snows go over 24 hours but you get the jist that next week could be big for a lot of mountain communities. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
SnowDawg
Yeah the ingredients are there for a big storm with the second wave if we can get it to come together right. I think the GFS is a little too north with its track right now given the CAD high and decent confluence from the first storm.
Met1985
This could be a really good week for the whole viewing area. Sure at the current we aren't looking at a Miller A or a Miller B, but I'd take this look in a heartbeat.
Met1985
Temps are a bit colder after the second storm also. Again if there is that much snow around and on the ground these will be trending lower. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

You'll do great in this flow. Franklin will do awesome as well.

Met1985
A really weird run from the Euro. Doesn't really drop the hammer with the second system at all. I'm not worried. It will change again tonight.
