Where is Soco?  Is it near Waterrock Knob west of Waynesville?  How much land up there is above 5000 ft?  You think it would be the most affordable, high probability snow terrain in NW NC?

It's between Maggie and cherokee.  Not sure on the land but there are some houses on the Haywood County side above 5k. Once you cross into Jackson you're on the reservation and can't own land there unless you're cherokee.  Also, you're not far from the casino and the ski slope. Great rental potential!

I've measured a foot now at 4650 here on Beech.  Today's flow far overperformed with the minimal moisture that was available.  Looking forward to the next event which will be a little bit of synoptic and a lot of flow snow.  I'm thinking another 5-10 is in order for the usual flow snow locations.

Can someone point out where the best upslope locations are near Banner Elk? I’m a novice. Appreciate it.

That's a great question.  Maybe Tyler Penlandcan help with that.  I'm not site about what's the best spot up through there except maybe Roan mountain.
Definitely Beech and Roan.

Beech is easier to access since they keep it plowed for skiers. Roan will probably pull over a foot this weekend.

Zionville on the west end of the county does pretty good as well if you wanna avoid the masses on the ski mountain.
