Maggie Valley Steve
Looking like we have another episode of W to NWFS tomorrow night. It doesn't look as vigorous as the system, but another chance to add to seasonal totals perhaps.

Tyler Penland
18z GFS gets the border counties sub-zero on Tuesday morning and very close Saturday morning.Interestingly the last two times Boone went below zero it happened in back to back winters. Most recently 13-14/14-15. Can we keep the streak alive with a 22-23/23-24?

I remember years ago it would get below zero at least once a season. Then 2011/12 happened and we went several years without a below zero reading.

Met1985
This map is really something we need. Lay down a ton of snow to our north.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk

Met1985
06z gfs has another solution. Again I don't think we are close to a solution currently. I'm confident that we will see snow but it's just how much.Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
JoshM
I don't want the 6z solution, lots of NC Piedmont ZR
Met1985
Just now, JoshM said: I don't want the 6z solution, lots of NC Piedmont ZR Yeah I saw that. The way the front is depicted that would be a big possibility. Freezing rain to snow in the piedmont, would be a freaking disaster for road conditions. Met1985
Also another potential little system around the 19th. Sent from my SM-G998U using Tapatalk
Met1985
I know one thing especially if we have snow to our north and to our west is that we are going to see a prolonged very cold snap with very cold temps. Look for temps to trend lower as we get closer to the cold fronts blasting through.
Met1985
Wow! The wind has cranked up this morning. An hour ago it was 22 degrees. Currently we are at a balmy 35 in 1 hour. That is impressive and the wind is whistling through the trees.
Met1985
Now it's completely calm out and we went from 37 back to 32... Must of been some kind of mountain wave event...
Tacoma
you know I was just checking next weeks weather with all the cold air around , man no moisture anywhere around us, whats with that? The storms just stop when we finally get cold enough for snow, what in the world do we have to do? Just really pisses you off.
