cyclone77 Posted October 29, 2023 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Humorous how the point forecast for here Tuesday goes back and forth between snow showers on one shift, or partly sunny on the next, as the forecasters disagree. Some are riding the GFS, and others give more credence to the Euro/RGEM. Think it's pretty stupid to not have any POPS though given the potent vort and even the near miss of the GFS would still likely warrant a POP. The forecasters who are leaving it bone dry are going to bomb. I've noticed the same thing happening occasionally at IWX, although they try to do a good job at keeping the forecast smooth. Brian D Posted October 29, 2023 Share Posted October 29, 2023 Chilly wx starting yesterday with highs in the upper 20's-low 30's around the area (top 5 low max records), and lows this morning in the upper teens-low 20's (top 10 mins). Dense ranking method used. Nice, sunny morning through the window until you open the door. Typical cold wx days. Winter is quickly approaching, and those roaring fires in the dead of winter are glorious and worth the labor. Glad it held off for a bit to get final yard cleanup down and snow equipment ready. Temps around the area were Top 5 min's again running in the teens this a.m.. Hibbing had a 2nd place finish at 10 (8 1988). I-Falls has been down for a few days. North of Muskegon to Ludington/Manistee area they are thinking 3-6" with an inch or so locally.
