With any talk of an off-winter, you can picture Wolfie in the pits, going ham on everyone and everything

Lol good one.

But Actually if there are valid reasons for an off winter, by all means bring them to the forefront. But Because Halloween “may” be mild, and there hasn’t been a frost so far this autumn in SNE, those aren’t valid reasons in my opinion. Those are just items some folks choose to use to stir the pot.  Those have no bearing on the upcoming winter season whatsoever.

And Last year, we had some just doing persistence forecasting.  That’s not a valid reason either.  Last winter we had changes that did come, changes that were positive, and should have delivered, but there was always some other negative that more than offset the positive changes. That’s the definition of a True Rat.

We are in a whole new regime for this year…totally different set up and set of drivers. It will be different than last year. We will do better than last year(because we really would have a very very tough time doing any worse here in SNE).  That’s my stance and prediction. So Not going off on anybody at all.

Lots of crickets out there chirping this morning. Never ending summer. Shorts season continues unabated well into November

Saturday will be
the wetter day but some showers may linger into part of Sunday
along with gusty winds. Then dry but chilly weather returns
early next week with a potential for a widespread frost Tuesday
morning.

60’s today thru Saturday and then it’s 65-73 middle of next week thru Helloween into early Nov with pig east coast ridge . One or two nights of fake cold isn’t winter

We had posts last week saying maybe 70’s for this week…not gonna happen.

Halloween still up in the air?  Things are progressing as they should.  Stepping down incrementally as is, is how things go. A few mild days here and there, are normal and how things work in autumn in SNE. And does not constitute endless summer at all.  We good. We going in the right direction.  This will not be last season..that’s all you need to know on 10/18.

Yeah starting to get some consensus on the first region wide cold shot just before Halloween. The airmass post weekend storm was trending colder as well, but models have backed off a bit again. CON may flirt with 32° still, but I think mby is safe until that Halloween shot.

we really should start looking at winter 2024-2025.  It's not going to snow at all this winter.  November is shot; then we have the grinch to deal with, then sun angle starts becoming a problem in January.  Not worth getting invested.

Just something we need to accept in a warming world.

I noticed the past few nights how odd it sounds around 11 pm taking the dog out. Besides being attacked by mosquitos, tons of summer sounds. Definitely not mid October sounding.

If we can't catch Monday or Tuesday nights cool down, will probably have to wait until the end of the month for the first frost....

You’ll likely get a solid frost there Tuesday morning. Probably 30-31. Here I’ll be lucky to get below 39
