HoarfrostHubb
A warm and humid October evening Meanwhile, on a hill in CT, a skinny man is tossing and turning in sweat soaked sheets crying “Why did I uninstall?!?!” 1

powderfreak
Hoo Lee Fuk. MVL here locally hit 87F. Period of record is short but if 86F set BTV’s going back to 1882…. a degree warmer at MVL is mind boggling.
Damage In Tolland
It’s October when you don’t use AC like you do April -Sept. short days, low sun angle, long cooler nights, no pollen to ruin the inside of house and families health. Ragweed doesn’t bother you? Over 50 million in the US are allergic to it. 2
powderfreak
Actually, looking at the highs in NNE, interesting that most spots are clustered so close despite elevation differences. Shows that regional topography matters more than elevation? SLK is almost 1700ft and hit 86F… must be the high peaks region of the Adirondacks helping mix the atmosphere. Mountain slopes maximizing valley compressional warming? It seems like it doesn’t matter if you were at 300ft or 1700ft, the high temps would be about similar. 87F BML (1,160ft) 87F MVL (730ft) 86F SLK (1,660ft) 86F BTV (330ft) 85F MPV (1,160ft) 84F HIE (1,050ft)

dryslot
5 hours ago, brooklynwx99 said: there is an increased risk for a larger storm next week as the deep trough this weekend leads to the development of a potent west-based -NAO block. the block decays and the GoA trough pumps a +PNA ridge at the same time. this is not too dissimilar from the KU pattern evolutions we see in the winter, so the risk of a nor'easter is a good bit higher than normal West is best, I'll take that over an east based block.

Region wide would require a near perfect set-up. Strong low level cold along a stalled front and abundant southerly flow moisture overrunning.
